JUDITH M. ORVOS, ELS

PRESIDENT

Orvos Communications was founded by Judith M. Orvos, ELS, a board-certified editor in the life sciences with more than 40 years’ professional writing and editing experience spanning the commercial, public health, and nonprofit sectors. As a writer, her byline has appeared on articles for Mayo Clinic Press, Medpage Today and Contemporary OB/GYN. As an editor, she was the recipient of four Jesse H. Neal Awards — the most prestigious editorial honor in trade publishing — for her work on a monthly medical journal.

Ms. Orvos brings to clients not only a wealth of knowledge about medical communications but skill in managing editorial teams. She has overseen the work of writers, editors, and graphic designers at a commercial publisher with journals in ob/gyn, urology, and oncology; USAID’s Bureau for Global Health; and the public information clearinghouse of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (now NCCIH) of the National Institutes of Health.

In addition to her BELS certification, Ms. Orvos is a member of the American Medical Writers Association, the Council of Science Editors, ACES: The Society for Editing and the Association of Health Care Journalists.
